What is Kinesiology?
kinesiology is the study of human movement. Depending on who you ask, this movement has to be goal directed , or it can simply be all types of movement.
Sort of fields included in Kinesiology?
Kinesiology contains subdisciplines such as biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor development and learning and sports history, psychology and philosophy. Kinesiology is also a popular degree to have for people interested in going into athletic development fields such as coaching, personal training, and future education.
Holistic therapy is based on a comprehensive concept, which sees the body as a whole:body soul and spirit. There are two different test methods. On the one hand the muscular test created by Dr Goodheart and later Armlength Reflex (AR) created by Van Assche. Both methods are biofeedback systems of the body, (the body reacts to a given stimulus, giving us information about what happens). We know that certain electrical impulses from the body can transmit specified information.
Authors FP Kendall and E. Kendall in their study “Muscles an Functions”discovered the principles of Applied Kinesiology and developed a method to valuate muscular function. Dr.Goodheart based his work on this study, making history from the year 1965.This unique diagnostic method uses the body’s muscle tone as a feedback system to assess dysfunction in patients and to determine the most appropriate treatment. For example, in the presence of a major toxin, a previously strong muscle can test quite weak. The Kinesiologist can then determine the required treatment by challenging specific remedies, to see which one causes the weakened muscle to strengthen.
Dr. Goodheart noticed that massaging the origin and insertion of a muscle which had a small knot, caused the contracted muscle to become more tenser. Treating these knots directly didn’t show any improvement. On the other hand when the weak muscle (antagonist) was massaged it relaxed the contracted muscle. Later he discovered that there was a relationship between muscle weakness, certain diseases and their corresponding organs. All connected through the nervous system. These tests allowed him to obtain correct information of the imbalances in the physical and energetic. Dr. Goodheart called this Applied Kinesiology. Applied Kinesilogy (AK) works with biochemical, structural, vascular, lymphatic nervous and emotional diagnosis and treatment.
In 1980, the Belgian Physiotherapist, Osteopath and Kinesiologist Raphael Van Assche, discovered ”
Holistic Kinesiology” with Armlength Reflex (AR). That year he was working in Spain when a friend with back pain came for a consultation. Osteopathic treatment for a back injury involves stretching the patient’s arms while she lies on her back, with both arms above the head extending the body, with the palms facing upward. The intention is to check the contraction of the Psoas muscle implicated in most of these dysfunctions.
If both arms are kept stretched in this way and we observe one arm shorter than the other, the Psoas on one side is hypertonic and contracted, with the resulting adjustment of a vertebra. While Raphael Van Assche carried out the test, the patient started talking about her family and the event which caused her back injury. One day while crouched picking flowers in the garden, thinking about a relative of hers who had a problem. The telephone rang and her husband shouted to her that the relative she was thinking about was on the line. Quickly standing up to get to the phone, a block in the lower back caused her to feel a sharp pain in that area.
The novelty of the situation was that throughout the story Raphael Van Assche tugged gently on her arms and noted that there were times when one arm was shortened, which was when she spoke of the emotion associated with her relative. At other times the arms were matched, corresponding to a release of emotional tension. After talking for a while, the arms remained balanced and the pain and dysfunction subsided.
Analyzing the situation, Raphael Van Assche deduced that there was so much emotion in that person and the Psoas were already so contracted, that the phone call was the straw who broke the camel´s back. The result was that as the arm shortened, there was also a change throughout the anterior and posterior muscle structure produced by emotion; that’s when he realized the great discovery. While Goodheart and Applied Kinesiology works with muscle tone, Van Assche´s Holistic Kinesiology works with changes to anterior and posterior muscle tone. Whilst tests performed with individual or paired muscles work with phasic muscles. The response from the arms or Arm length Reflex as Van Assche then called it, works with muscle structure and not phasic muscles.
With AR the complete anterior and posterior muscle structure comes into play, including muscles that maintain their posture 24 hours a day. This is where we store all the information whether we are relaxed, sleeping or mobile. AR is a static energy response from body posture, which defines information stored since birth.
KINESIOLOGY FULL BODY REBALANCE:
- The kinesiology treatment finds and releases Trapped Emotions that have been causing internal imbalances over the years.
Trapped emotion is a ball of energy that could happen; one day ago, one year ago or at any time in our lives, since we were born.
Every human being has emotions but some moments in our lives the challenges are so much big. Sometimes we have not ability to adapt or overcome and then those emotions create emotional blocks, which drag along our lives sometimes without knowing it.
Some trapped emotions are so large, as a result they can create diseases. The RightTherapy can find the trapped emotions, they have been blocking our own process of healing and release them for life.
- Testing for deficiencies on: Minerals, Vitamins, Amino-acids, Enzymes, etc. It is extremely important to have the right amount in our bodies.
- Most of the time, Viruses, Bacterias, are not very easy to detect. This can cause internal and external problems. Kinesiology can help detect these viruses.
- Do you know if your internal Organs are Happy and working in harmony? They all have different emotions; rebalancing them will improve anything.
- Meridian energy channels: There are twelve main meridians, or invisible channels, throughout the body with Qi or energy flows.
Each meridian is paired with a corresponding Organ: 1.Lung, 2.Spleen, 3.Heart, 4.Kidney, 5.Pericardium, 6.Liver, 7.Large Intestine, 8.Stomach, 9.Small Intestine, 10.Bladder, 11.San Jiao, 12.Gall Bladder. When all the organs are in harmony or balance our health is durable.
- Energetic systems of the body: Aura, Chakras, Subtle Bodies. From an energetic perspective each of us are made up of layers of vibrating energy, each of which has their own specific vibration and purpose. It is very important to have them harmonized or balanced.
- Bones, Muscles, and Joints: Problems with Bones, Muscles, and Joints could be caused by an imbalance or deficiency listed above. If the problem was caused by doing any physical inadequate movement or extreme sport, we will manipulate them to release the tension.
- Nutritional food intolerance test: We will Test all the nutritional food to find if you have any allergy or food intolerance. Knowing what you must not eat will reduce or prevent illnesses.
Do you suffer with Headaches, Nausea, Bloating, Stomach cramps, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Fatigue, Skin disorders, Brain fog, Lethargy or constant tiredness?
These could be some of the symptoms of allergies or intolerances.
We provide a that can identify the potential causes and allow you to make changes to your diet or your life that can ease these symptoms.

HOW YOU CAN HELP YOURSELF:
Our body has information about everything that has happened in our lifetime. Therefore with Holistic Kinesiology, the body responds to a series of questions if we know how to ask correctly. We can determine if a certain disease or pain is caused by something in particular:
- Structural: muscles, ligaments, tissue, joints, skull sutures, orthostatic systems of the body (ears, eyes, mouth and feet)
- Biochemical: relating to metabolic-chemical process
- Emotional: accumulation of current or past problems which affect the psyche, leave traces in the body
- Energy: internal energy blockages or external energy influences (e.g. pylons) that disturb our equilibrium.
It may appear that an organ is defective. But actually what happens is that the person as a whole has imbalances which affect that particular organ; mental or emotional, physical, energy channels, chemistry etc.
Holistic Kinesiology acts on the “whole body” seeking the cause of the imbalance. It is very rare that a system reacts alone. More commonly one system affects others. Physical stress alters our biochemistry. Biochemical stress can cause toxins to slowly accumulate causing physical and psychological problems. Psychological problems can also cause illness and pain, therefore it would be incorrect to treat one defect without considering others.
In short we can determine the roots of the problems. Then use the arsenal of techniques available to the therapist, to decide which treatment is best for the patient. This is a comprehensive and individual therapy which deals with the patient’s symptoms, assessing how effective the therapy is and does not label or formalise the same treatment for those suffering from similar symptoms.
PATHOLOGY WILL BE TREATED WITH THIS TECHNIQUE:
All health problems or discomfort, physical dysfunction or problems which affect the psyche or energies will be tested and the treatment made specific to each patient.
We can deal with emotional issues, past or present, which have left their mark on our lives and which still have a major influence.
Holistic Kinesiology is a global view of our health. Respecting and assisting organisms and mechanisms that our bodies use to be healthy. One of the things that most characterises Holistic Kinesiology as a technique, is the ability to prioritise a dysfunction and its treatment. The patient could suffer from various pains or problems, which when seen from the point of view of orthodox medicine. They have no relationship to each other but from our point of view are often related.
This being so, having considered the points of conflict with respect to the patient’s symptoms and having confirmed the relationship that exist between them. We can see what needs to be treated as a priority. After this in most cases there isn’t a need to treat the other symptoms because they are now functioning correctly.
We can use a simple analogy:
If the right wheel of my car is imbalanced it will cause vibration in the wheel and axle. Which will wear the tyre, causing the steering wheel to vibrate. I might tighten the screws in the axle or try to strengthen the steering column which may help to reduce the vibration, but without resolving the problem. The worn tyre and the steering wheel vibration are symptoms of the wheel imbalance, the main cause, which once fixed. Resolves the first two. It is the same with the body but slightly more complex. Because the systems we treat are alive, moving and changing constantly.
